Republicans nationwide are tearing into President Joe Biden on Thursday after he announced he'd use an emergency order to force businesses with 100 or more employees to mandate vaccines or weekly COVID testing. 'Forcing this and coercing people, I don't think is the right decision. I'd imagine that you're gonna see a lot of activity in the courts if they try to do that through an executive action,' Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (main) said during a press conference Thursday. The Republican National Committee says that it intends to sue to block the order from taking effect, and governors are vowing to file lawsuits and block the order with state laws. Several House members plan to introduce bills to outlaw Biden's order. Among the opponents to Biden's new order are (right, left to right): (top row) RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, (middle row) Senator Ben Sasse, Senator Rand Paul, Rep. Andy Biggs, (bottom row) Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, South Carolina Governor Brian Kemp, and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

California governor hopeful Larry Elder has slammed Democrats for not calling attack on him a hate crime after a white woman in a gorilla mask was filmed throwing an egg at him on a campaign stop Wednesday. On Thurday night, the GOP candidate told Fox News' Tucker Carlson Tonight host Jesse Watters that he encountered the 'very angry and ugly scene' while he was touring a homeless encampment in Venice Beach. 'If I were a Democrat, obviously, this would be called systemic racism, they'd be calling it a hate crime. I don't like to play that game,' he said. Earlier on Thursday, LA County Sherrif Alex Villanueva slammed the attack as a hate crime.

'Your refusal has cost us all': Biden declares war on the 80M unvaccinated Americans in speech ordering mandates on two-thirds of ALL workers and insists: 'This is not about freedom'

President Joe Biden on Thursday slammed the 80 million Americans who have yet to get a COVD vaccine shot, asking them 'what more is there to wait for.' 'This is not about freedom or personal choice. It's about protecting yourself and those around you, the people you work with, the people you care about, the people you love. My job as president is to protect all Americans,' he said in remarks in the State Dining Room at the White House. 'We've been patient but our patience is wearing thin. And your refusal has cost all of us. So please do the right thing,' he said.

Biden breaks his promise not to mandate vaccines: President announces sweeping federal requirements for as many as 100M Americans after repeated claims Covid shots wouldn't be made compulsory

President Joe Biden has been accused of flip-flopping after retreating from his earlier vows that the federal government would not mandate COVID-19 vaccines for the general public. Biden on Thursday announced sweeping new vaccine mandates for as many as 100 million Americans, sharply denouncing those who have not yet received the shots. It was a marked change in position for the White House, perhaps reflecting the administration's desperation as the Delta variant fuels a huge surge in infections across the country.

Biden ORDERS private companies with over 100 employees to mandate vaccines and strict testing regimes or face $14,000 fines for violations in bid to get shots in 100 million workers

President Joe Biden on Thursday announced an aggressive new plan to get 100 million employees across the federal government and private sector vaccinated against COVID as the case rate continues to rise due to the Delta variant. To reach his goal, Biden will use the sweeping power of the federal government, ordering companies to vaccinate workers or face fines of up to thousands of dollars. If the administration hits its 100 million mark that means two-thirds of the country's workforce would be vaccinated. The Labor Department issued an emergency, temporary order to require all businesses with 100 or more employees to ensure every worker is either fully vaccinated or gets tested at least once a week. The order covers over 80 million employees and it will require employers with 100 or more employees to give employees paid time off to get vaccinated. Any business that violates the new rule will face substantial fines, up to $14,000. He also required all workers in healthcare settings that receive Medicaid or Medicare reimbursement to get vaccinated, which will apply to 17 million healthcare workers.

Robert Durst would have gotten away with the murder of his best friend if filmmakers had not unearthed the most damning piece of evidence against him, a prosecutor said Thursday in the New York real estate heir's trial. Durst, 78, who appeared in a Los Angeles court in a wheelchair and is now gaunt and ailing, has pleaded not guilty to murder in the point-blank shooting of his best friend, Susan Berman (left), at her Los Angeles home in December 2000. Prosecutors said he killed her as she planned to speak to authorities about how she provided a phony alibi for him when his wife went missing in New York in 1982. While filming the documentary, 'The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst', filmmakers discovered an envelope Durst sent Berman a year earlier. The handwriting was identical to the note (inset) sent to police after Berman's death, with Beverly Hills being misspelled as 'Beverley' on both.

McCorvey filed a lawsuit in 1970 under the name 'Jane Roe,' asking to be able to have an abortion. By the time the law passed in 1973, McCorvey had given birth and put the baby up for adoption. Daughter of 9/11 victim whose remains were identified ahead of 20th anniversary reveals she did not believe her mother was dead for years and she has NEVER been to the memorial

The daughter of a 9/11 victim whose remains were identified just days before the 20th anniversary of the attacks says it took her 'years' to believe that she was killed.   Dorothy Morgan, 47, who worked as an insurance adjuster for Marsh & McLennan in the North Tower at the World Trade Center and whose remains were recovered in 2001, was one of two victims to be identified this week through DNA testing.  The second victim's identity is being withheld at the request of his family. His remains were recovered in 2001, 2002, and 2006. Another 1,108 victims have still not been identified. On Thursday night, Morgan's daughter, Nykiah Morgan, told Anderson Cooper 360 said it has been an 'emotional rollercoaster' and it has taken her years to come to terms with her mother's death. They were they were on fire, these guys, it was like day after day, they were all dying and then their dying words are ''I wish I had been more into the vaccine. I wish I had taken it.'' MIKE DICKSON IN NEW YORK: One more bite out of the Big Apple and, incredibly, Emma Raducanu is going to be the US Open champion. The 18-year-old from Kent is the first ever qualifier into a Grand Slam final after another performance of extraordinary poise saw her defeat seventeenth seed Maria Sakkari 6-1, 6-4 in just 84 minutes. Now for the last part of this scarcely believable story. Raducanu will be one half of the first all-teenage championship match at a Major in 22 years when she meets world number 73 Leylah Fernandez, the 19 year-old Canadian. Already the player who began Wimbledon ranked No 338 has earned a minimum £900,000 from the nine matches won here, and now comes the chance to bank a place in sporting history. Staggeringly, she has yet to drop a set.

Andrew Lownie has penned a compelling book (inset) about the Duke and Duchess of Windsor (pictured), who seemed to be fraternising with rich pro-Nazis after the Abdication and throughout the war. What the author calls 'the killer telegram' was a coded one sent by the Duke to a pro-German Portuguese friend, Ricardo Espirito Santo, in August 1940, 'at the height of the Battle of Britain when Britain was fighting for its very survival'. Backed up by plenty of evidence including the diaries of an MI5 officer, it reveals him to be an active player in the plot. Indirectly, the Duke was communicating with the Germans, asking them to tip him off as to the right moment to return to Europe and take the throne in what would be a new world order.

Donald Zec, a showbusiness writer for the Daily Mirror, criss-crossed the Atlantic in search of Hollywood gossip at a time when there was no impenetrable wall of publicists and minders to block access to the stars. As he put it, he was 'by turn war reporter, voyeur, ringside commentator and marriage guidance counsellor'. Zec, who has died aged 102, was one of the last remaining links to Hollywood's Golden Age, interviewing such Hollywood legends as Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, James Dean, John Wayne, Mae West and, of course, Monroe. When she was plagued by insecurities and heartbreak, it was to Zec that Marilyn turned, once phoning him at 3.30am to share her woes. He, in turn, called to console her when she miscarried during her marriage to playwright Arthur Miller.
